Please review this Checklist to ensure you have everything required BEFORE proceeding with your Online Application

You can not apply on-line if:

• You are under 18 years of age unless it is for employment or volunteering directly with a federal, provincial or municipal agency.
• You have been convicted in the last 5 years of an offence as a Young Offender.
• You are applying for a Police Information Check for the purpose of Immigration

With an entirely electronic application you may apply on-line and then share the results electronically with an Agency Registered on K-PIC. 

In order for your application to be handled completely electronically:

• The requesting Agency must be registered on the Kingston Police K-PIC site.
• Applicants are required to have a unique email address
• Applicant will have lived in North America for more than 1 year
• Applicant will provide financial information to have your identity electronically verified through Equifax’s eIDVerifer (this is not a credit check and does not affect credit scores or ratings).
• Applicant will upload two pieces of government issued identification documents, one must be photo identification. Listed below is the only acceptable government issued identification for this application.  While you are required to provide 2 (two) pieces of identification, one of which must be photo ID, you may provide two pieces of photo ID.  In other words, you must select at least one form of ID from the first column but can select two forms of ID from that column. 

Background checks will only be conducted for applicants meeting at least one of the following criteria: 

• resident of the City of Kingston
• for the purpose of employment in the City of Kingston
• for the purpose of volunteering in the City of Kingston
• for the purpose of physically attending classes in the City of Kingston

IMPORTANT: 

• Applicants that DO NOT reside in Kingston may still apply on line as long as they meet the following criteria: 

  (1) Applicant uploads two pieces of identification

  (2) Applicant successfully passes the E-ID verification process 

  (3)  the agency requiring the check is registered on K-PIC.  

Applications received without meeting the above criteria will be rejected and NO REFUND will be issued.

Kingston Police fee is $35.00 payable on-line.
